Booker T. Brown Jr. 70 of Hoopeston died at 3:26 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

There will be no services. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brown was born on April 9, 1943, the son of Booker T. and Mary Bell Dixon Brown Sr. He married Lutie B. Mars on May 25, 1960 in Chicago, she survives.

Also surviving are six children; Sharon (Tracy) Brown-Jackson of Chicago, Cathy Brown of Coralville, Iowa, Booker (Janet) Brown III of Chicago, Mark Anthony Brown of Chicago, Angela Brown of Coralville, Iowa and Tina Brown of Coralville, Iowa, four sisters; Sophia Barber of Country Club Hills, Addie Wills of Naperville, Ruby Jordan of Freeport, Wisconsin and Lois Steel of Justice, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and his loving soul mate, Julia Anderson.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Mr. Booker retired from the State of Illinois.

He loved jig saw puzzles, trains and casinos.
