URBANA, IL-  Billie "Bill"  Gene O'Connor, 95, of Urbana, passed away  at 7:18 AM,  December 28, 2023 at his residence in Urbana.

There will be a visitation from 10:30-11:30AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL with funeral services at 11:30AM.

Bill was born April 18, 1928 In Huntsville, MO, a son of Alvin and Mary(O'Bryan) O'Connor.  He married Doris M. Hewkin on May 3, 1947 in Biloxi, MS.  She preceded him in death on July 28, 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon K. Wallace of Urbana, IL, two grandchildren, Sandra G. Stove and Jennifer (David Lamb); Four great grandchildren:  Stephen B. Shove, Liam Freeman, Max Freeman and Audrey Freeman.  Also surviving is a sister, Jennie Lou Magan of Kansas City, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Stephen B.Oehmke, Jr., two sisters, Jessie Lee Valentine, Jimmie O. Fox and and a brother, Owen Jack O"Connor.

Bill was a general contractor for over 30 years and was also a propery owner and property manager.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Urbana, American Legion Post 74, and the US Power Squadron of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.
