Betty Jane Taylor Wascher, 82, of Urbana, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 surrounded by her family at home.

There will be a graveside service 1:00 PM Friday, August 15, 2008 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Rev. Michael Smith will officiate. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana is handling arrangements.

Betty Jane Taylor Wascher was born August 15, 1925 in Urbana a daughter of Henry Birtsel and Bertha Caroline Pridemere Taylor. She married Harold Edward Wascher June 16, 1943 in Champaign. He preceded her in death in 1992.

Survivors include a daughter Linda Jane (Gary) Ashby of Urbana, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren Guy Ray, Barry, and Sonnie; a sister and a brother.

Betty Wascher was born in the same house that she died in. She worked as a beauty operator and a seamstress.
