Betty Louise Matlock 81 of Vacaville, California formerly of Urbana died November 25, 2016 in California. Betty moved to California in 2006 to be near her family during her courageous fight against Alzheimer's disease.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Matlock was born on August 31, 1935 in Villa Grove, the daughter of Coleman and Grace Watkins Kindred. Betty was one of 10 children. She married Raymond A. Matlock on February 14, 1953 in Villa Grove; he died on March 24, 1992.

Survivors include a daughter; Mary (Steve) Velinsky of Davis, California, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two step-sons; Michael and Marc Matlock.

Betty and Ray operated Wash-A-While laundry service in the downtown campus area for over 20 years in the 1960s and 70s. Betty also worked at the Chuck Wagon Diner for many years.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Champaign.
