Bertie L. Miller, 75, of Urbana died at 7:51 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

To honor Bertie's wishes, there will be no services; her ashes will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.

Mrs. Miller was born on July 9, 1938 in Tilton, the daughter of John V. and Mary Catherine Songer Brawner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christe J. Miller.

Survivors include five children; Missy (Rick) Wallace of Evansville, IN, Kathy Cramer of Champaign, Char (Tony) Conner of Champaign, Mary Jo (Scott) Miller of Urbana and Chuck Cramer of Colorado Springs, CO, one brother; Jack Brawner of Bakersfield, CA, one sister; Ella "Petey" Samson of Danville, seven grandchildren; Ryan Cramer, Bryan Cramer, Matt (Dani) Conner, Nate Conner, Michelle (Tony) Mongkolsmai, Scott Bloomfield, Megan Miller and six great grandchildren; Morgan, Lily, Caitlin, Ethan, Hileah, and Baby Jak on the way.

Mrs. Miller was a passionate nurse. In Illinois, she offered her services to Lakeview Hospital, nursing homes, and drug and alcohol abuse programs. Later in Florida, she worked in drug and alcohol abuse, home care, and cardiology.

She was a great seamstress, cook, and bowler, who loved watching classic movies. She is deeply missed by all who love her.
