Bernard "Bernie" Michael LaValle, 61, of Urbana passed away at 11:31 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory in Urbana. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Bernie was born on January 14, 1955 in Champaign to parents Donald E. and Delores Ann (Collins) LaValle. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his brother Norman.

On November 3, 1977 he married Janet McWethy in Champaign, she survives. Also surviving are their children; Christopher LaValle and Bryan LaValle, both of Urbana. His sisters; Margie (Paul) Harmon of Urbana, Jeannie (Tim) Brenner of Urbana, three nieces, one nephew, two great nieces, one great nephew and one great great nephew also survive him.

Bernie was a graduate of Urbana High School. He worked for LaValle hauling for over twenty years. He also worked for Champaign Unit 4 school district as a bus driver. Bernie is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Bernie enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and animals. He was a wonderful storyteller and jokester. He loved spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Champaign County Humane Society.
