Bernard Joseph Martin of St. Joseph, passed away September 19, 2017 at his home. A memorial reception will be held from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2017 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana.

Bernie (Joe) was born June 13, 1951 in Urbana, Illinois to parents Leland and Kathryn (Guthrie) Martin. His wife, Jackie Martin survives. Also surviving are two daughters, JoEllen Martin Carey (Jon), of Fithian, and Alyssa Martin, of St. Joseph. Bernie is also survived by six siblings: Curtis Martin, of Springfield, Janet Campbell, of Urbana, Rita Raymond, of Mahomet, Lyle Martin, of Urbana, Larry Martin, of Urbana and Dottii Carlson, of Urbana. Four grandchildren also survive: Dylan Yeargin, Jack Carey, Shauna and Kasey Carey. Bernie was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Martin.
