Berl D. "Buster" Peavler, 67, of Urbana, passed away in the early morning of Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center with his family by his side.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Immediately following the service, there will be a gathering at the TIA Hall in Thomasboro, IL.

Berl was born September 19, 1949 in Champaign, a son of Marion and Zella (Wilson) Peavler. He graduated from Rantoul Township High School in 1968. He married Kathy L. Franklin on January 26, 1969 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2014. He is survived by one daughter, Marci Blocher of Urbana; one granddaughter, Ashley Blocher of Rantoul, and six great-grandchildren, Trey and Tony Coleman, Nicole, Alexis, Lincoln and Payton Mae Eichelberger. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Gene (Carol) Peavler of Rogers, Ark., and Bob (Patty) Peavler of Champaign.

Berl retired from C-U Mass Transit after many years as a bus driver and supervisor. After his retirement from there, he became a semi-driver which he did for several years until health issues forced him to retire. After retiring and with many health issues, he still found the time to care for his grandsons, who meant the world to him.

Berl was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters, Donna and Sherry, and a nephew, Jerry.
