Becky Frances Duffield, 53, of Thomasboro passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Community United Church of Christ, 805 S. Sixth, Champaign. The family will begin welcoming visitors at 3:30 PM. A celebration service will begin at 5:30 PM, with a meal open to all to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help make a contribution to the University of Chicago nursing staff in Becky's name. Donations may be sent to Brian Duffield, PO Box 303, Thomasboro, IL 61878.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Duffield of Thomasboro, her parents James and Sherrill Vliet of Thomasboro, her children; Carl Duffield and Travis (Jenn) Duffield, both of Forest Park, IL and her sister, Gretchen Clifton of Rantoul.

Becky was born in Urbana on October 24, 1963 to parents James and Sherrill (Hodson) Vliet. On October 27, 1984 she married Brian Duffield in Champaign.

Becky graduated from Urbana High School and earned her Associate's Degree at Parkland College. She worked at the University of Illinois as the Office Manager in the Analytical Chemistry Department, and always made sure graduate students had a full candy dish. Becky enjoyed cooking for friends and family, whether at home, church, or as part of mission trips. She loved spending time in Minnesota at the family cabin, bird watching in her parents' pasture, cheering on the Illini, and always asking for another frosted mug of root beer.
