A memorial gathering of friends and relatives of Barbara Ellen Gillespie, 67 of Urbana will be held Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Amber Pointe Clubhouse, 2002 Amber Lane, Urbana, all are welcome.

Mrs. Gillespie died at 8:44 p.m. Monday, June 25,2012 at her home. She was born November 17, 1944 in Urbana, a daughter of Ted and Ruth Stover Hildreth.

Surviving are a daughter; Shannon Gillespie of Urbana, two grandsons; Adam Trammell of Urbana and Gage Fulbright of Newton, North Carolina, one sister; Joyce Peters of Urbana and two brothers; Buck Hildreth and Hoke Hildreth both of Urbana.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, William B. Gillespie Jr, just three years prior.

Mrs. Gillespie spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Barb worked for the Urbana School district for many years. Her interests included shopping, jewelry, gardening, collecting 50-cent pieces and giving to everyone around her, especially children. Barb was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Urbana. She will be missed by all who knew her.
