Barbara Jeanne DeNardis 72, of Urbana died at 5:52 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara was born on December 7, 1936 in Lawrenceville, the daughter of William and Ola Sinclair Tewell; she married William DeNardis who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters; Dee (Del) Ehler of Champaign, Elaine DeNardis of Urbana and Maura (Gary) Michael of Champaign, one son; Mark (Johnie) DeNardis of New Castle, Wyoming, two brothers; Joseph Tewell of Bloomington and Chuck Tewell of North Highland, California, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Barbara was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from the Champaign County Nursing Home as a Certified Nurses Assistant.

She enjoyed classic movies and music.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Illiana Veterans Affairs Hospital.
