Barbara E. Dalbey, 102, of Urbana died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, Urbana. Rev. Deborah Owen will officiate. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara was born on March 20, 1914 in Capac, Michigan; the daughter of Everett Ernest and Adelaide May Reams Elliott. She married Raymond C. Dalbey on October 16, 1932 in Covington, IN at the Methodist parsonage; he died in June 2005.

Survivors include five children: Raymond E. (Jean Smith) Dalbey of Sebring, Florida, David E. (Marty) Dalbey of Datil, New Mexico, Kay (Jack Hall) Elmer of Mahomet, Judith Ann (Stan) Anderson of Ruskin, Florida and Margaret (Dennis Schmidt) Ford of Champaign and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Family was most important to her.

Barbara graduated valedictorian from Fairmount High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Urbana, where she was the second woman to be ordained as elder in that church. She was also a member of the Carle Auxiliary for 25 years, 50+ year member of Hope Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and she and Raymond started the Illinois chapters of the Good Sam and TWT Camping Clubs.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Urbana.
