Barbara Jean Berbaum 85 of Champaign died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Taylorville Hospital, Taylorville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, Rev. Jim Cornell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Berbaum was born on May 28, 1928 in Champaign, the daughter of Claude and Hazel Elinor Butsch Dye. She married Clarence H. Berbaum on June 8, 1952 in Urbana, he survives.

Also surviving are one daughter; Sandra (Jim) Cornell of Stonington, one brother; John (Sandra) Dye of Mattoon, three grandchildren; Angela Cornell, Hannah Cornell and Daniel Cornell and special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son; Randy.

Mrs. Berbaum graduated from Urbana High School in 1946.

She graduated from Michael Reese Nursing School and practiced nursing at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana for many years.

Mrs. Berbaum was a member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau and a 4-H leader. She liked sewing, cooking, gardening, reading and country music.
