URBANA, IL- Austie G. Fryer, Jr., 74, of Urbana, passed away at 5:45 P.M., Friday, December 25, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Rev. Michael Smith will officiate. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 A.M. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Mr. Fryer was born February 26, 1935 at Urbana, IL, a son of Austie G. Fryer and Valma (Byers) Fryer. Survivors include a daughter, Gail Dickerson of Dumas, Texas and two sons, Kevin Fryer of Crystal Lake, IL and Todd Fryer of Inverness, IL; 10 Grandchildren and two brothers, Jim Fryer of Sidney, IL and Dave Fryer of Danville, IL also survive.

Mr. Fryer graduated from Urbana High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army from April 23, 1956 to April 22, 1958. He retired, in 1990, from the University of Illinois, after 31 years of service.
