Arthur John Hills, Jr. 74, of Urbana, passed away at 1:25 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 at Provena-Covenant Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, with Pastor Brent Roberson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hills was born February 19, 1936 in Danville, the son of Hazel Daisy (Marshall) and Arthur John Hills. He married Peggy DeWitt on September 29, 1973 in Champaign and she survives. He is also survived by daughters; Emily Schmit (Jonathan) of Champaign, Jennifer Peddycoart (Brian) of Champaign, Kristy Hills (Jenna) of Champaign, sisters; Edith Faulkner of Danville, Ellen Dunn of Madison, Wisconsin, and grandchildren; Jordyn Jones, Emma Peddycoart, Avery Peddycoart, and Logan Schmit. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Hills graduated from Danville High School and later worked at the University of Illinois as an Operations and Maintenance Supervisor for 20 years. Arthur was an avid reader and crossword enthusiast. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and watching old movies.
