Arthur B. Cooper Jr. 60 of Urbana died at 12:35 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Philo Road Church of Christ, Urbana, Brother Charles Harmon officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cooper was born on June 7, 1951 in Chicago, the son of Arthur B. and Marion E. Johnson Cooper Sr. He married Birdie Carrington on March 24, 1979 in Chicago, she survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Chicago, four daughters, Edmonia (Keith) Douglas and Marion Miller both of Texas, Kelly (Calvin) Mosley of Georgia and Alisa Cooper of Illinois, one brother; Adrian B. (Pamela) Cooper of Bloomington, one sister; Lois (Robert) Shields of Chicago and eight grandchildren; Jewel, Aaron, Anthony, Xavier, Alana, Micah, Nicolas and Devin.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother; Aaron.

Mr. Cooper was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Urbana.

He was a member of Dublin Street Church of Christ, Urbana,and Alpha Phi Alpha Inc.
