Amy Van Arsdall, 92, passed away on August 14, 2015 at her home in Mahomet, IL, with her family at her bedside.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. Amy was born in Moline, IL, daughter of Clifford and Borghild White. She grew up with three sisters; Betty, Gerry and Patricia and a brother, Charles. Amy's parents and sister Betty preceded her in death.
During WWII Amy worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Whitehorse, Yukon. She also worked in the Admissions Dept. at Parkland College for many years and was a nursing home activities director in Champaign.
She was married to Ed Hansen until his passing in 1997. She married Roy Van Arsdall in 1998 and they spent 17 wonderful years together. He survives. Also surviving are children, Steve, Jill, Kay and Bob, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Amy loved her dogs, the annual houseboat weekends and was a champion bowler. She enjoyed watching the birds in her yard and feeling the serenity of the lake. She experienced numerous trips with her love, Roy. Amy was artistically gifted and attended the University of Illinois in Fine Arts.
In lieu of flowers remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association are suggested.
