SIDNEY, IL- Alyce Faye Rusk, 72, of Sidney, passed away at 11:40 A.M. Thursday, November 29, 2007 at home surrounded by her beloved family.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 3, 2007 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Rev. John Garlock will officiate. Entombment will be held at Mt. Hope Mausoleum, Champaign. Visitation will be held 2-5PM, Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rusk was born July 13, 1935 at Champaign, IL, a daughter of George W. and Alma F. Maxwell Sarver. She married Ronald W. Blakey in 1955. She later married Harrison R. Rusk on December 27, 1979 at Champaign, IL. He preceded her in death in 1985. Survivors include 2 Sons: Ronald W. Blakey, Jr. and wife, Vickey of Sidney, IL, and John R. Blakey and wife, Alice of Thomasboro, IL. 2 Daughters: Loree E. Blakey and fiancAC.e, Carlton Pittman of Fayettville, N.C. and Lynn S. Marshall and husband, William of Homer, IL. 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren also survive. 5 Brothers: William Sarver of Dallas, TX, Robert Sarver and wife, Ellen of Champaign, Raymond Sarver and wife, Arlene of Urbana, Michael Sarver and wife, Kelly of Eureka, IL, and John Sarver and wife, Vonnie of Urbana. 4 Sisters: Barbara Clark of Newman, IL, Dorothy Key of Loudon, TN, Lois Key and husband, Larry of Homer, and Patricia Gillett and husband, Leroy of Cabool, MO.
Alyce attended Champaign,Urbana schools, and Parkland College. She worked as a home care nurse for over 30 years. She cared for many people throughout the years and cared for them as if they were her own. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and she was an avid Illini fan. Alyce loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.
Memorials may be made to: St. Judes Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society, Feed the Children, or the Champaign County Human Society.
