Allan Slightom 73 of Thomasboro died at 6:26 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview; Rev. Lee Galbraith will officiate. Masonic services will be conducted by the St. Joseph Masonic Lodge #970 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Slightom was born on January 29, 1938 in Champaign, the son of Ancil Leroy and Wanda Meyers Slightom. He married Alberta Voss on January 6, 1990 in Urbana, she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters; Theresa Barnett of Urbana and Anita Godzicki of Gibson City, two step children; Cindy Cribbett of Champaign and David Voss of Bloomington, one sister; Mary Lou Mancuso of Westville, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He retired as an operating engineer in construction.

Mr. Slightom was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, Urbana, St. Joseph Lodge #970 A.F. & A.M., ANSAR Shrine Temple, Hi-Lo Wheelers and the Elks.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's St. Louis Children's Hospital.
