Alice G. Phelps 92 of Urbana died at 2:14 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate. There will be no visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Phelps was born on January 2, 1920 in Villa Grove, the daughter of Samuel and Cordelia Redd Norman. She married James K. Phelps Sr. on May 4, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri, he survives.

Also surviving are three sons; James K. Tami) Phelps Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Philip W. (Vickie) Phelps and Gary E. (Shawn) Phelps both of Urbana, one daughter; Sharon A. (Richard) Slade of Champaign, nine grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, one daughter-in-law, five brothers, seven sisters and two great granddaughters.

Mrs. Phelps worked for Champaign County Nursing Home, Carle Hospital and Kmart of Urbana.

She enjoyed crafts.
