Obituary

Alice Lucille Embry Hadler, 78, of Rantoul died 8:40 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Paxton.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Eastlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Rev. Terry Ewing will officiate. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana is handling arrangements.

Alice Embry Hadler was born September 9, 1930 in Champaign, the daughter of Harry A. and Nora A. Rosemier Williams. She was married to Jim Embry for thirty years. He preceded her in death. She married Larry Hadler in 1998 and lived on his farm north of Rantoul. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Greg Embry who was killed in an accident when he was 23.

Alice lived on a farm near Mahomet until she was almost six years old. They moved to Champaign where she attended Champaign schools and graduated from Champaign High School. She then attended Champaign Beauty School and was a beauty operator for several years in Champaign. Alice enjoyed knitting, playing accordion, and writing poetry.
