Albert Russell Krug of Urbana IL died 3/29/2014 in the morning hours at his Grandsons home in Canton Ga.
Funeral Services will be held at Renner-Wikoff Funeral home on Philo Rd in Urbana IL on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Heidi Weatherford officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Washington Rd. in Morton IL.
Albert Krug was born on 5/14/1919 in Morton IL, one of many children by Albert and Fronie Krug both Deceased. He married Patricia Folks of Peoria on 6/10/1942, she preceded him in death after 71 years of marriage, Survivors include one Son Richard Krug of Urbana; One Sister Geraldine Keltto of Battleground Washington; one Grandson David Krug of Canton Ga; and One Great Grandson Ayden.
He was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian church of Urbana for many years, and was also involved in Mariners Club, and an officer of the Men's club.
Professionally and personally he was an Active Amateur Radio operator and member of the American Radio Relay League. During WW2 he served in the Radio Intelligence Division of the FCC and later as an Electronic Tech in the US NAVY and Saw active Duty with the 7th fleet in the Pacific Area and then went on to serve in the Illinois State police where he retired after 28 years of service as the Communications Supervisor of District 10.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian church of Urbana.
