Shirley Lovett Obituary

Shirley Ann Lovett, 77, of Urbana, IL, passed away at 6:44 AM on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

 

There will be a memorial visitation on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, from 5-7 PM.  There will also be a Celebration of Life at the Urbana American Legion, 107 N. Broadway St., Urbana,  on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2-4 PM. 

 

Shirley was born April 30, 1941 in Cobden, IL, a daughter of Russell and Beulah (Singleton) Toler.  She married Darrell “Corky” Lovett on August 17, 1958 in Cornith, Mississippi.  He survives.  Also surviving are three children, Phil(Sheila) Lovett of Mahomet, Tammie(Jami Greathouse) of Urbana, and Jeff Lovett of Urbana.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Ashley Lovett and Courtney(Grant) Lynn, and a sister, Betty McDuffy of Ivesdale, IL. 

 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

 

Shirley had worked at the News-Gazette, the Courier newspaper, and was a secretary for her husband at Ewing-Lovett Transfer Company for many years.  She loved gardening, her pet poodles and her family.

 

Memorials may be made to the family for the Celebration of Life service or the Champaign County Humane Society.  Condolences may be offered at www.renner-wikoffchapel.com
