Robert Byers Obituary

Robert Carl Byers, 79, of Champaign passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Champaign Rehabilitation Center, Champaign.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Bob was born in Urbana on May 9, 1940 to parents Robert L. and Thelma A. (Forsberg) Byers. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Michael L. Byers in 2006.

He is survived by his siblings; Nina K. (Gary) Johnson of Beaufort, SC, John W. Byers of Champaign and Charles P. (Kathy) Byers of Fort Myers, FL. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.

Bob graduated from Champaign Senior High School, worked as a forklift driver for J.M. Jones and worked for his family’s heating and cooling business.
