Loretta Darlene Marlowe, 75, of Champaign passed away at 4:34 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Rev. Ed Hollis will officiate. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 12:00-1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Loretta was born in Champaign on November 13, 1942 to parents Dewey and Beulah (Roderick) Andres. They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were three brothers.
On August 11, 1962 she married Ronald E. Marlowe in Champaign, he survives.
Also surviving are their daughters; Vickey (Lester) Fonner of Ogden, Linda (Mark) Kates of Champaign and Nikki Marlowe of Philo. Siblings; Barbara Thompson of Tuscola, Virginia Hites of Champaign, Bob Andres of Tolono, step brothers; Don (Peg) Roderick of Champaign, Virgil (Susie) Roderick of Champaign, Kenny (Jan) Roderick of Oakwood, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive her.
Loretta was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Urbana for over forty-six years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. In her earlier years she rode a motorcycle and a scooter around town. She also used to paint handcrafted woodwork items made by her husband, Ron and loved crocheting.
Loretta was a very loving individual who cared for many of her family members until they passed. She always had a hug and a smile for all the people that she met. Over the years she welcomed friends of her daughters that had no place to go for holiday dinners. Loretta had a heart of gold.
