Jack Holland, 78, of Urbana, formerly of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. A private memorial service will be held this week at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory. Mr. Holland’s ashes will be interred in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
Jack was born February 26, 1940 in Sparta, Tennessee to parents Dolly (Steele) and Charles Holland; they preceded him in death. He married Marilyn Jennings October 10, 1959; she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lynn Holland, of Champaign, Illinois, and Denise Holland, of Tunbridge, Vermont. Three grandsons, Dale, Owen, and Kyle, five siblings, and two canine companions, Buddy and Happy Girl also survive.
Mr. Holland graduated from Wayne State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting management. He was the comptroller and the supervising manager of the General Motors Fisher Body Division for many years.
Jack was the consummate gentleman and treated everyone with love and respect. He had a great love for the family dogs and had many interests, which included old cars, model trains, painting, celebrating the holidays, the outdoors, and crossword puzzles. He had a simple zest for life and loved his family dearly.
