Brian Long

Brian Allen Long, 41, of Urbana joined his grandparents in Heaven December 4, 2012. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A funeral service will be held following the visitation on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Wood will officiate. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Brian was born October 21, 1971 at Burnham Hospital in Champaign, Illinois to parents Mark and Pamela (Miller) Long; they survive. Other survivors include daughter; Madison Yvonne Long, of Fisher, son; Brayden Ashton Long, of St. Joseph, sister; Chelsea Yvonne Glad (William) and niece; Hayli Jo Glad, of Paxton, aunt; Shirley Marie “Sissy” Watts, of Oklahoma, great-aunt; Moreean Mazzoleni and cousin; Sue Mazzoleni, of England, uncle; Donald Edward Miller, of Paxton, and numerous relatives.

Brian worked as a carpenter, concrete finisher and operator for Harmon Construction before health reasons caused him to resign. He became skilled as a carpenter by learning from both sides of his family.

Brian loved being a father. He enjoyed watching his son wrestle and play football, and loved his daughter more than anything in the world. He enjoyed funny movies and loved to make people laugh. He was deeply interested in learning about the criminal mind, addiction, and how the brain works.

Brian received so much support from his family and friends at Narcotics Anonymous. He was a best friend and a confidant to many. He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed.

Memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s honor to Narcotics Anonymous at www.na.org.
